Appearing Saturday 1pm in the Performance Area
Drawing influence from the Scottish and American indie scenes, and maintaining punk rock ethics and a DIY mentality, State Schools combine soft melodic guitar lines with sing along choruses. Writing of times gone by, people lost and escaping the small town they grew up together in, State Schools craft beautifully dynamic acoustic indie songs that are sometimes heart breaking, often uplifting, and always honest. As a band they are committed to using music to raise awareness of mental health conditions, and reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness. Winter 2016 will see the band record a debut EP, and split single as a precursor to a UK tour early in 2017.
