I am a Kenyan-born Indian, from the Jain community, and settled in the UK 25 years ago. In 2005, I launched Shambhu's, an award-winning vegan food business based in London. Our mission at Shambhu's is to show how great vegan food can be, and to teach how simple great vegan food is to prepare :-)


I was lucky to have had a diverse cultural upbringing in Kenya, where family meals were always prepared using fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables. As such, my style of vegan cuisine tends to be a fusion of various culinary cultures, made using fresh ingredients and spices.


Over the years, Shambhu's has been serving hearty home-cooked international vegan cuisine at festivals, private functions, company events and at London Vegans monthly guest-speaker evenings.


This year, I'm excited to have launched my new programme of vegan cookery classes in north-west London, in which I teach a range of delicious, nutritious and simple-to-make dishes covering a variety of culinary styles. Otherwise, I regularly deliver cookery demonstrations at events in the UK and abroad, including at most of the VegfestUK shows. I'm delighted to be back again for VegfestUK London 2015, and particularly delighted to be running this year's demonstration in partnership with The Vegan Society
